Date and time

Friday, December 14, 2018 · 1 - 4pm EST

Location

Literacy Assistance Center

85 Broad Street Room 27F New York, NY 10004

Description

In this workshop we will review the basics of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as tools for advocacy. We will explore how each best lends itself to advocacy work. Participants will create or log into at least one of these accounts and they will learn how to find people/entities to follow, and how to organize the information they are sharing and receiving.

We will have Chromebooks for people to use but participants are welcome to bring their own devices.

This workshop is for people who identify themselves as novices and have little or no experience using these tools.

The LAC is at 85 Broad Street. We'll be meeting in room 27F on the 27th Floor.

1. Enter the building through the WeWork entrance on the northwest corner of the building (corner of South William Street and Broad Street). I'll have registered you but you will need to show ID.

2. Take the elevator to the 27th Floor

3. Exit elevators and walk down the elevator lobby, past the booths, into the large common area. The kitchen will be to your left and Room 27F will be to your right.
